SHANGHAI The Central Garage Co., a British firm, are in negotiation for land half way between Shanghai and Woosung admirably adapted for starting and landing seaplanes. NEWCHANG The river is quite a quarter of a mile wide, and might be suitable for seaplane landing, except in winter when it is frozen over with exceedingly rough ice. It could not be used from the latter part of November to the end of March. HANKING The Yangtze would appear to offer a suitable base for seaplanes. SWATOW No. TIENTSIN There are no places in use at present, as there are no seaplanes in China, but undoubtedly suitable places could be found along the coast. WUCHOW The river at Wuchow is about three quarters of a mile wide and would be suitable for a seaplane base during the dry season of the year. A sloping beach is then available.
