This listing attempts to present just one “series” – the sepia postcards produced from heliogravures. Even this one series exists, it seems, in many variations. The cards can be found with inscriptions in French and in Italian; printed on different card stocks and with numbered inscriptions in different fonts. It is not known whether each image exists in every variation. Some cards are rarely seen in any format, whereas some are relatively common. Postally used cards are much scarcer than cards which have not passed through the post. Such used specimens provide valuable indications of the dates when the cards were published.
