Note the Russian tail numbers – R-RECC was registered to Junkers Luftverkher Persien (JLP) in 1927; R-RECG was registered to JLP in December 1925. 6 April 1927 Imperial Airways Cairo-Basra service becomes weekly (previously fortnightly). The first weekly Basra-Cairo flight left Basra on 16 April 1927. Article in “B.Z. am Mittag”: “Täglich Kaviar. Am 15. April wird der Luftverkehrsdienst Moskau-Baku-Tiflis wieder aufgenommen werden. Mit dem Fischerverband in Azerbaidschan ist ein Abkommen getroffen worden, wonach die Flugzeuge täglich Spezialkűhlbehälter mit 50 bis 100 Kilogramm frischem Kaviar, der fűr Moskau und Berlin bestimmt ist, befördern fallen.” <RZ 207/30616/164> 10 April 1927 In a letter to the British Minister, the Chef de Cabinet wrote: 13 April 1927 In a further communication, the Persian Government stated that permission for eight flights during four months would be granted to Imperial Airways on the following conditions: “I am authorised by the Prime Minister to inform you that Government have agreed to grant permission for eight flights. This permission is a provisional act with no relation to an International Air Service which, so far as Persia is concerned, depends on Parliament.”
