THE PERSIAN AIR MAIL

19 November 1927 to 13 December 1927 At Karachi 14 December 1927 Karachi Aircraft of the Flight were inspected by Air Vice-Marshal Sir W. Geoffrey H. Salmond (A.O.C., R.A.F., India). All officers and airmen slept in the flying-boats, which were ready in all respects for the continuation of the cruise. On to Singapore – arrived 28 February 1928 23 November 1927 A Protocol for the establishment of an interchange of an aerial mail service between Baku and Pahlevi, and vice-versa, was signed by the Persian and Soviet Governments. It was expected that the service would start on 1st January 1928. A French translation of the Persian text of the Protocol was published in "Le Messager de Téhéran" on 5 December 1927:
