THE PERSIAN AIR MAIL

The Junkers Aerodrome. The Junkers workshop on the aerodrome in Teheran is sufficiently well equipped to carry out a complete overhaul. There are no hangars for civil aircraft anywhere in Persia. Junkers is considering an extension to Afghanistan via Meshed-Herat-Kandahar-Kabul and then on to Peshawar. Since 1927 Junkers have flown three special flights to Kandahar. Ex-King Awanulla acquired three Junkers aircraft during his 1928 European tour. These three aircraft were wrecked in Kabul during the 1928-29 rebellion. Junkers has sent an engineer to inspect them and, if possible, restore them to a serviceable condition. Junkers will not enter for the aircraft competition which the Persian Government proposes to hold at the end of August 1930, in order to select the most suitable type of aircraft for the Persian Air Force. 11 June 1930
