There are only 2 German pilots, 2 mechanics, and 2 Junkers machines in Persia, other than those in the service of the Persian Air Force. Both machines are all-metal 6-seater machines with 320 HP engines. They are used on the TeheranPahlevi postal service. A machine leaves Teheran for Pahlevi every Tuesday, and returns on Sunday to synchronise with the Pahlevi-Baku boat service. The German activities in USSR were considered to have enabled German spying and to have resulted in excessive German influence. Both Germany and USSR were unsure of whether there were any true loyalties between the two powers. This mutual distrust was exacerbated by calls from Soviet agencies with vested commercial interests to terminate the Junkers contracts. The Politburo considered the matter and ultimately, in March 1927, payment of 3,000,000 roubles was authorised to compensate Junkers for termination of the contracts. Junkers relinquished the Fili plant and machinery, together with fourteen aeroplanes with engines and spare parts.
