THE PERSIAN AIR MAIL

August 1925 Teheran-Enzeli service closed down. 15 August 1925 26 August 1925 Jarolimek met Lt. Col. I.A.E.Edward of the British Air Ministry. Jarolimek said that Reza Khan had told him that the Persians were very averse to granting any permission to the British to fly commercial services over Persian territory. Jarolimek said that he was most anxious to cooperate with the British in every way possible, and was keen to meet the Director of Civil Aviation, Air Vice Marshal Sir S.W. Brancker. He had heard that Brancker might want to use a Junkers machine to get to Teheran or elsewhere, so he had immediately telegraphed to Persia to keep one machine in constant readiness to be despatched to any point that Brancker required, at any time. Jarolimek said that the Persians are very interested in the possibility of running a service between Teheran, Ispahan, Kerman and on to the rail head on the Indian frontier (Duzdab). He asked what the British attitude would be if Persia asked Junkers to establish that route. Jarolimek also asked about the British attitude would be to a Junkers service from Teheran, to connect with the British service at Baghdad. 28 August 1925 The British Foreign Office invited the German Ambassador in London to enquire of Junkers when their representatives will find it possible to call at the Foreign Office in order to discuss the proposed air services in Persia with the Foreign Office and the Air Ministry.
